What a whirlwind week it's been!
I kicked off the week in style, attending the American Cancer Society's Cattle Baron's Ball. It was such an inspiring event, filled with hope and determination to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
Midweek, I had the incredible opportunity to take an exclusive tour of the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. The advancements in healthcare and orthopedics left me in awe!
But the week wasn't all business - during the IACC board meeting we celebrated not only the end of board terms, but also several birthdays, making it a memorable meeting filled with joy and camaraderie.
Lastly, I proudly sponsored the second annual First Responders Breakfast. It was an honor to show our appreciation for the heroes who keep our community safe.
Here's to a week filled with purpose, inspiration, and connections!

When I worked at the South Lake Chamber of Commerce (FL) the annual Teacher Appreciation Breakfast was my favorite event. Several of my friends are teachers in Lake County and I loved having a chance to spoil them before they welcomed their students back into the classroom.
This is the second year I've been able to support the event with my company and I've been lucky enough each year to have my daughter with me at the event. I think she loves spoiling her teachers just as much as I do.
Welcome back South Lake teachers! I hope it's an amazing year! ... See MoreSee Less

Let me start by saying that never in a million years did I ever think I would have been competing in a ballroom dance competition. And yet, Friday and Saturday night that’s exactly what happened…all because Kacey jokingly asked and I couldn’t say no. #ItsForTheChildren
Back in May the six of us gathered with the Education Foundation of Lake County and Dance It Studio teams to meet our pros, and I honestly don’t think we knew exactly what was in store for us. 20+ hours of sweat, tears, floor burn, stumbles, laughs, tears (did I say that already?), triumphs, encouragement, high fives, face palms and wildly inappropriate jokes later, it’s safe to say not one of us is the same person we were that first day in May.
Knowing that each of us was stepping out of our comfort zone, some (🙋🏼♀️) in a big way, the entire Dance It team made sure that from the moment we entered the studio to the moment we left we felt welcomed, encouraged and loved. From the chats with Carolann as I laced up my practice shoes, to the greetings yelled across the floor when I walked in, to the warm hugs before I hit the floor, it was the best possible place to grow into something you never thought you could do.
As the dances started to take shape, Eddie was there every step of the way offering guidance, encouragement, sass and hugs. His ultimate goal was to make sure that you as a dancer were comfortable, having fun and pushing to your potential (even if you couldn’t see it at the time). His creative suggestions, while sometimes absolutely terrifying, made each number more special and I honestly cannot thank him enough.
And then there’s the Fred to my Ginger…the Ken to my Barbie…Johnny. All I asked for in a partner was that they were taller than me (dead serious, ask Kacey), but I got oh so much more. I got a kindred spirit. His patience (and did he need it) and guidance helped me overcome so many challenges and fears during this process. His ability to keep me laughing was the best bonus I could have ever asked for, but his ability to make me believe that maybe, quite possibly, I could actually pull this off was second to none. I’m so incredibly appreciative of everything he has done, and quite honestly cannot even begin to find all of the words to express it. And believe me, I’ve tried.
Finally, I’m so thankful for my entire crew that has supported me throughout this journey. From Scott and the kids who adjusted to this crazy schedule and accepted the days that I came home after a rough rehearsal and wanted nothing but silence and the ability to sit in my feelings, to my ladies who rallied around me and made some of the best damn signs you could ask for, to my seeeeester who flew into town to cheer me on, everyone has been so amazing.
What a journey this has been, and what a journey it will continue to be… ... See MoreSee Less
